My favorite holiday is Christmas. I know lots of people love Christmas, but I really think I am above and beyond my fellow fans of Santa Claus. I start listening to Christmas music in August, sometimes July. If pine tree was a perfume, I would wear it. I still go to bed early on Christmas Eve because Santa comes to my parents house only if I am asleep… And I still wake up my sister and parents at 4am on Christmas Day to open presents. I don’t think there is a better feeling than walking into a store and seeing snowmen, twinkling lights, and jingle bells before Halloween is even over!
“So what is the big deal??” you may ask, “Lots of people love Christmas…and this is a wedding blog.”
Well, my point is, I have been trying to figure a way to incorporate my favorite time of year into my beach wedding in October. We are going to have a reception in my hometown during winter sometime after our wedding, but that is not enough. I need to recognize this glorious holiday on my special day!
I can’t bring reindeer and candy canes to the beach so close to Christmas – so I am doing the best that I can. I have decided to change our wedding colors to accommodate my personal desires and now fuschia has turned to a bright red and sea foam green is now pastel green. GLORIOUS!
I have also made my maid of honor happy. My little sister told me that she only looks good in red and black… naturally I laughed at her and told her she can wear those colors at her own wedding. But now, she gets to wear red…. or GREEN! Needless to say she was very excited about my decision.
