Brunch is one of my favorite meals because it combines breakfast, lunch, and champagne into one. On Sunday I was invited to a brunch at The North House in Avon, CT with some talented beautiful ladies from the CT Bloggers Network. We stuffed our faces with a variety of eats made from scratch by the incredibly talented Executive Chef April Gibson, learned all about The North House from owner Nick Chabot, and was spoiled by the staff with bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys.
We tried so many different dishes – such as the Fig & Berry Bruschetta, BLT Deviled Eggs, a Charcuterie and Cheese Board, Caramel Apple Pancakes, Banana Chocolate Chip Belgian Waffles, and slow poached Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps. At the end of our meal the servers brought out Creme Brulee, Walnut Praline Cheesecake, and the most decadent Chocolate Truffles I have ever tasted. Everything on the menu at The North House is made from scratch and incredibly delicious. I peeked at the dinner menu and can’t wait to try the Stonington Sea Scallops and Handmade Raviolis.
This was my first blogger event with not just local fashion/lifestyle bloggers, but food bloggers as well. The conversations around the table varied from the crispiness of the bacon crumbles on the deviled eggs to where you can buy Free People for under $6. I met a bunch of new girls who I can’t wait to see again – Nicole from Nicole Bogert and Amanda from Amanda Bella are pretty fabulous. I also finally met Nicole from Nicole in Colour in person. Isn’t it funny how you can talk to someone for weeks over social media and feel like you know them without actually knowing them?
