Yesterday I blogged about the new baby pool we bought for Annabelle now that she can sit up on her own. The pool is pretty perfect since its just her size, has just enough covering from the sun, and was easy to blow up. I found it at Target for $12, but actually had to return the first one after discovering a tiny hole in the palm tree leaves.
It is so funny how whenever we introduce something new to her, she doesn’t necessarily like it right away. She always cries a little bit… and then after a few tries she decides she likes it. There is usually a lot of singing and dancing on Mommy and Daddy’s part too. I wish I could post the video of the first time we put her in the Jumper in the doorway… her initial reaction was priceless.
I am starting to realize that we are usually more excited about new adventures than our little one. The first time we went for a walk she was so little she didn’t know what was going on – but B and I, we were SO pumped to take her out in the neighborhood. Just last month we went to the beach for the first time, we couldn’t wait to get her out in the sand and near the ocean. She, on the other hand, had other feelings about that. She cried like we were putting her toes in hot lava! Fortunately we will get to try again… and again… and again at the beach. I have a feeling that when she gets a little older, she might just enjoy it. However, if she hates the sand, I understand. I hate it too.
Our family will be embarking on lots of new and exciting adventures this summer… and while we know we will definitely enjoy them, we hope A has a little bit of fun too. Whether she likes it or not, I will try to capture these moments with the camera so they’re never forgotten. She will definitely have to laugh at the crying pictures someday…
Right now A is having fun with some rubber kitchen tools while in the pool. I am looking for a tiny watering can since she loves to watch the water when I let it trickle out of my hand, but I can’t seem to find one.
Do you recommend any toys that would be fun in the water?
