Somehow Ailey is now seventeen months old and almost at her half birthday. Where in the world has our tiny chubby baby gone? She is so tall at 2ft 9 inches (84%) and so lean at 21.3lbs (34%). Her feet continue to grow and we just discovered she’s grown out a pair of boots we bought two months ago. She wears a size 5 or 6 shoe and 18-24 months in clothing.
Likes: Singing, dancing, Wubbanubs, flying through the air with Daddy like a hawk, ‘Ailey-guitar,’ puppies and kitties, climbing the stairs, opening drawers, playing in toilets, opening bottles, reading books, making animal sounds, running, looking for birds out the window, chasing Mcmuffin, shutting the door to a room so she can go potty, putting on her green tutu to dance to “Let it Go” or “How Far I’ll Go”
Dislikes: being told “no,” wearing socks, when we can’t understand what she is trying to tell us
Eats: Cereal for breakfast, Homemade Cookies (esp Great Aunt Connie and Great Grandma Mary’s Gingerbread & Great Aunt Sandy’s Sugar Cookies), meatballs and spaghetti from Michael’s Trattoria, deli meat, beets, green beans, vegetable soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, cheese sticks, pizza, fruit snacks, cucumbers, blueberries
Favorite words: Annabelle, Dada, Mama, Nah-na, ME, Mine, “hah-hah” = water, hat, more, bow, kitty, “bong” = we have no idea but she says it a lot like we should know what it means.
Ailey loves to laugh and make everyone else laugh with her silly sense of humor. Annabelle might be her favorite person, even though she will bite her if she is mad at her and has slapped her quite a few times. She tries to copy what Annabelle says and does, so we’re reminding big sister she has to watch how she acts.
