Minimalism is my motto when it comes to jewelry. I’ve never worn more than a few pieces at a time, and when I do I feel strange. I love the simplicity of a dainty necklace or ring, a single bangle or a small earring. Each piece that I wear has a story behind it, so after I had children, I really wanted something with their birthstones.
Since Annabelle was born in December and Ailey was born in August, anything I wear for the girls’ will be a little bit of blue and green. Delezhen carries the most beautiful gemstones and hand-made jewelry, ideal for a Mama who wants to wear a little piece of her daughters around her neck. I absolutely adore my one of a kind hand-stamped cascading birthstone necklace as its not only a symbol of their birth months, but also the first initial of their names. The births of both girls were two of the most monumental days of my life, so wearing two gemstones and leaves to honor those days is meaningful to me.
Along with variety of necklaces, Delezhen also carries rings, earrings, and bracelets. I’ve always wanted a right hand ring with my birthstone in gold, so I was very excited for the little surprise in my package. Lapis Lazuli is the name of the deep blue natural stone (resembling the depths of a gorgeous ocean) set in an 18K Gold Vermeil square that I now never want to take off.
Wearing personalized jewelry means so much more to me knowing that the designers behind it are as passionate about their craft as I am the reason behind my desire to adorn my neck with my daughter’s birthstones. Co-founder Masha Lezhen describes the passion behind her shop – “All of our pieces and colors are inspired by nature and it’s beautiful symmetries and asymmetries. Like the orchids and lilies we use in many of our pieces, the jewelry is inspired by delicate feminine strength and beauty. I felt that by using birthstones, the pieces would carry meaning to the wearer with sophistication and organic grace.”
DeLezhen is ranked one of Etsy’s top 15 jewelry sellers of all time and prides themselves on the close knit community they’ve created on Facebook with their fans. Their jewelry is made right here in New England in Boston, MA.
